Japanese coin ring - 50 Yen Chrysanthemums

Japanese coin ring - 50 Yen Chrysanthemums

These rings are made to order with a quick turn around time.
I make this ring out of two coins: 50 Yen coin from Japan.  It features chrysanthemum flowers around a center hole.  These coins were minted from     42-63 (1967-1988) and are copper-nickel.  I curved the coin and applied a patina to make the details pop.

I make the band out of a silver (.900) US dime from before 1964.

The main coin is about the same size as a US nickel (21mm).  The silver dime band width is about 3mm.

Most of the skin contact is with the silver (.900) dime band.  The main coin contains copper and is unsealed.
