Chile - Coin Pendant Handcut - Andean Condor - Flying bird - South America - Lat

Hand-cut using a bow drill and a jeweler's saw, I cut away the negative space to make the image pop!  (See photos)

This pendant, made from a 10 Centesimos coin from Chile, features the Andean Condor.  Found in the Andes mountains and adjacent Pacific coasts of western South America, the Andean condor is the largest flying bird in the world by combined measurement of weight and wingspan.

This coin was minted 1960-1970.  Because I am featuring the tails side of the coin, the heads side is not really meant to be featured although some of its details has been preserved.

Diameter of the coin is 27.17mm.  This pendant weighs .23 ounces.  The metal composition is Aluminum-Bronze.

As a pendant it comes on a stainless steel, double jump ring with a free stainless steel ballchain (Size #3).

As a keychain it comes on a larger double jump ring.As a memento/placeholder it comes without a hole - no jump ring.
